Dear Friends,

Our wonderful Lord and Savior reigns forever!  These words encourage me as I seek comfort daily from God’s word.  Indeed it is God’s word that gives us direction in a life of confusing decisions and choices.  My prayer is that you seek God’s direction in your life before you make choices that will determine your future.  We are promised that when we seek God and place Him on the throne of our life that He will ultimately look after our needs (Matthew 6:33).  Trust Him today and allow Him to guide you and direct you. 

This weekend will be a huge weekend for our church and with all that is happening, we want you to be aware of how you can help and be a part of New Life Community Church.  As we continue to grow and reach out into the community, it is imperative that we bathe our activities in prayer.  Would you be willing to pray for us and ask God to give us direction and purpose in reaching this world with the gospel? 

I want to challenge you to get your trunk ready and participate in this year’s Trunk or Treat at the fall festival!  Decorate your trunk up and drive on out to this amazing event.  As if this isn’t enough, our outreach team has put their heads together and will be giving away 3 ipods for the top 3 trunks!  2 shuffles and 1 nano will be given away to the top 3 trunks.  We have 3 anonymous judges who will be going around the parking lot and writing down decisions.  Be ready because the competition is fierce!  So far, there are close to 30 trunks that have  entered and will compete for one of 3 ipods.  The festivities will begin at 5pm and run through 9 pm.  I have sent you examples from last year's trunk or treat so you'll know what to expect.  If you want to participate, let us know how many cars, you will be registering by emailing Jenny Staudinger at jstaudinger@courts.state.va.us.

I just talked with JR Austin and tomorrow, he will be moving many huge round bails onto our property for the haymaze!  Generator Lights will be on sight to light up the place for hours of fun.  The Liberty University Sports Trailer will be on sight with a huge moon bounce contraption!  I personally cannot wait to get in this mass of fun!  Charles Gittman (Country) is getting the secret ingredients together for his famous STEW!!  Back by popular demand, Charles Gittman has agreed to come back and fill the community with his famous stew known all over these parts as "Country's Stew".

David Wheeler
Dr. David Wheeler (Associate Director) 

Dr. David Wheeler moved to Lynchburg in 2006 to represent the North American Mission Board as a field missionary at Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He also teaches Personal Evangelism and Church Growth at LBTS. 

David has spent the past 5 years as the Evangelism Resource Group Leader for the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. Previous to that, he was an Associate Professor of Church Planting and Evangelism at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas, as well as serving as the Evangelism and Prayer Director for 7 years for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. He has also been the Senior Pastor of three growing churches in Tennessee and Texas. 

David is widely known for his writings in the area of Servant Evangelism. He often leads conferences for congregations, associations, and state conventions across the country on this topic. David also works closely with Bill Faye, author of Share Jesus Without Fear, leading follow-up conferences aimed at mobilizing the church for greater community impact.

 

Prayer Walking the Community of Gordonsville, VA-November 6 & 7 in Gordonsville meeting at the town park.

As New Life Community Church begins to ask God for territory in the advancement of the gospel, it has come to our attention that the community of Gordonsville, VA, located just 16 miles to the West of our church is in dire need of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  While our whole nation is in need of a mighty move of God, we want to play our part in reaching one community at a time.  It is believed that through prayer and fasting, that strongholds are broken, racism is demolished and God's people are revived!  This community may serve to host an extension of our current campus in the near future.  Please make plans to join one of these prayer events and let's push back the kingdom of darkness!  Here is the schedule: 

Friday 5:30 pm meeting in front of Gordonsville Christian Church

Saturday 9:00 am meeting at the town park in Gordonsville.
