Dear Friends,

Can you believe that fall is already here?  As the seasons change, it reminds me of the change that occurs in us as we begin to grow in our faith.  This past Sunday, we introduced spiritual gifts coming from I Corinthians 12:1-3.  Did you know that God has given each believer a spiritual gift for every believer to do the work of the ministry?  Just like the equipment packages on a car, God has gifted the church with every available option to storm the gates of hell in this generation!  Let’s ask God to show us how we may SERVE Him using our spiritual gifts. 

This Sunday, while I am in Colorado with some guys from New Life Community Church,  Pastor John will be bringing a message that God has placed on his heart.  You won’t want to miss this great opportunity.  I covet your prayers while we are in the great state of CO spending time with God and each other.  Of course, maybe we can harvest an elk to show off to all of our friends.  I will try and update our trip on facebook and you can keep up with the happenings there.  If we aren’t friends yet on facebook, look me up and see all that is happening. 

Also, The Women's Ministry study is tonight from 7-9 p.m., it is on Hagar and it is being led by Jenny Staudinger.   The study will be located at NLCC. 

Well on another note, it looks as if this fall is going to be really busy doing the work of God.  Our outreach team did an amazing job in Gordonsville, sharing the gospel and sharing information about our church.  I have included some pictures below of the great time that we had and the young people did an amazing job sharing!  The theme at the street festival was of course, “What if you only had one month to live?”  At the end of the day, 2 people made professions of faith in Jesus Christ-to God be the glory!

As we enter the month of October, we are anticipating many people at our fall festival on Saturday night, October 31st.  Our outreach team has put much work into making this one of the best years yet to reach this community.  I want to challenge you to get your trunk ready and participate in this year’s Trunk or Treat at the fall festival!  Decorate your trunk up and drive on out to this amazing event.  As if this isn’t enough, our outreach team has put their heads together and will be giving away 3 ipods for the top 3 trunks!  2 shuffles and 1 nano will be given away to the top 3 trunks.  The reward criteria will be posted in this week’s bulletin.  The festivities will begin at 5pm and run through 9 pm.  I have sent you examples from last year's trunk or treat so you'll know what to expect.  If you want to participate, let us know how many cars, you will be registering by emailing Jenny Staudinger at jstaudinger@courts.state.va.us.
