Dear Friends,

It has been an amazing several weeks around New Life Community Church, thus the delay in getting you an update any sooner. We had an incredible time with our fathers 2 weeks ago at our service. Thank you dads for all that you do to influence these young minds for the kingdom of God. Your effort and willingness to make a difference will not go unnoticed and we recognize that you have the power to change the face of the world, one relationship at a time.

This Sunday, our text was from Exodus 17 and the battle being fought at Rephidim is a fine example of how spiritual warfare must take priority in a Christian’s life. As Moses dropped the rod of God, the battle for Israel went sour but as his arms were lifted up by his friends Aaron and Hur, the battle was being won. How evident is this in our prayer lives? As Bill Hybels said, “When we work, we work but when we pray, God works”. This morning, I want to encourage you to spend some time with the heavenly Father through prayer and meditation.

It all began with our Vacation Bible School kickoff that proved to be one of our most creative years yet at New Life Community Church. By the end of the week, 5 children had committed their lives to following Jesus Christ. All in all, we were able to minister to over 140 kids daily at our church. To God be the glory, many of you perhaps made a decision for Christ at your church’s Vacation Bible School. As our church continues to reach out into this community, we are proud to say that children are an “heritage” from the Lord and they are worth our eternal investment. I want to personally thank all of the workers who put in hours and hours to make this year exceptional. I believe that God is noticing your effort and blessing your eternal rewards beyond anything you could ever hope or imagine. Thank you to the parents who supported this year’s event! Also remember that if you have items that you donated as props, for VBS, please pick those up at church ASAP.

This Thursday, July 2, at 6 pm, we need your help at Louisa Health Care Center to help push residents to the parade. Each year a team from New Life Community Church gathers at the Nursing Home to give these residents an afternoon of joy! You will receive a blessing by being there and corresponding with these wonderful folks at Louisa Health Care. As much help as possible is needed and we could all use the exercise. So be sure to meet at the Nursing Home at 6 pm this Thursday. When you show up, see Roy Chiles or Laverne Key-Johnson. We appreciate the opportunity to minister in Jesus name.

Gabe and Kari Turner are officially living in Charlottesville, VA and this is an answer to prayer!  Thanks to all who helped move them and their furniture to this area.  We also want to pray for the rest of the team who will be joining them in the weeks ahead.  The response to this new church plant is amazing and we trust God to use them to reach this area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Please pray how you can help this church get off the ground.  Once God has confirmed in your heart, your level of participation, please email Gabe and let him know Gabrielturner@yahoo.com.    Their address is 536 Pantops Center, #229, Charlottesville, VA  22911

Recently, our women’s ministry made blankets to send to our dedicated soldiers who are protecting us.  One soldier wrote back and said, “The blankets were loved very much and my soldiers could feel the love that made them.”  It is rewarding to be able to minister all over the globe in Jesus name!  We appreciate our ladies who minister the gospel to special families.
