Dear Friends,

It brings me great joy to update you this week on the things that are happening at our church.  God has certainly had His hand upon us and we recognize it at just that.  This week, let’s not forget the role of the resurrection in our Christian faith.  As we approach this resurrection season, let’s understand that it is the cornerstone of the faith.  It’s the one thing that can give you hope when there is no hope in your life.  Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again!  We give Him praise for being King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Check out these shots of our baptism 2 weeks ago.  God continues go give us fruit from our labor.  We give Him glory for the great things He has done.

Well I want to get started and fill you in on some things happening around our church. 

 

  1. This Saturday, April 4, we will be having a Relay for Life Yard Sale at our church beginning at 7 am.  All of the proceeds will go to support our team entitled “Manuels Marchers”.  If you have items that you would like to donate for sale, please have them at church on Friday afternoon between 1 pm and 6 pm.  Also, there will be a bake sale so if you have items that you would like to donate, please feel free to bring that by as well.  In addition, I want to encourage you to check out our team website and feel free to make a donation online to help support this great cause.  Click on the link below.

  1. On Saturday, May 2, our church will go over to Orange to celebrate the annual Walk for Life sponsored by The Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia.  The event will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church right on Main Street in Orange.  A Continental Breakfast will be served at 8:30 with the Walk beginning at 9.  Please make plans to come on out and Walk for Life.  If you cannot make the event, please consider making a donation to this wonderful cause.  This year, I have a personal goal of raising $1000.00 and I know in my heart that God will have no problem getting us there.  Consider what your donation can do:  $25 – Services for 1 Pregnancy Test Client, $40 – 24 Hour Helpline for 1 Month, $100.00 – Purchase Crib for a Newborn Baby, $150 – Ultrasound for 1 Client, $300 – Pregnancy Support for 1 throughout the Pregnancy.  If you would consider helping me reach this goal, please respond to this email with your name, address, and how much you would be considering to help.  The Pregnancy Center will bill you directly.  I thank you in advance for helping me reach this goal. 

 

  1. This Wednesday night, April 1st, we will be having a team from the Stay Sharp program come and speak to our students.  The event will begin at 6:30 and end around 8:00.  With drug use prevalent in our county, we want the message to get out that God is the answer for our students.  Tell your students to invite all of their friends to this amazing presentation.  For a small taste of what’s coming on Wed., please visit http://staysharp.us/

 

  1. Finally, as we enter the resurrection season, you don't want to miss what is happening at our church.  Beginning this Sunday, Palm Sunday, we will be focusing our service on the resurrection of Jesus.  I can’t give you all the details, but you don't want to miss this Sunday.  On Good Friday, April 10th, beginning at 7 pm, you will experience “Voices from the Cross”-A Good Friday Drama.  You will want to invite all of your friends and neighbors to this event.  Our drama team has spent many hours rehearsing to bring you an amazing night of presentations.  And then on Easter Sunday, we will begin our Sunrise Service beginning at 6:30 am, Fellowship Breakfast at 8:30 and then the Grand Finale Celebration Service beginning at 9:30 am.  We are pumped about what is going to happen here.
