Dear friends,
As many of you know, we do not have services this morning due to power outages, fallen trees, and bad conditions. If you don't have power or heat and need to get somewhere, let me know and we can get you to the shelter at Louisa Middle School. As of this morning, we still do not have power and haven't had it since yesterday morning. With the temperature at 3 degrees this morning, the conditions are becoming more and more dangerous. If you need help digging out, let me know and I can mobilize some folks who have offered to help in any way. If you need food, water, or heat, please let me know so we can get you squared away. If you are available today to help and have 4x4, let me know your availability. If you don't have 4x4, it's best to stay home and let us bring you what you need.
In the meantime, please pray for those who do not have power. Last night, Stacey and I were transporting people to the shelter and noticed many people in the 605 Village who were just huddled around candles trying to keep warm. Pray for the workers that they would be safe and able to get the power back on in a timely manner. Pray for those scraping the roads that they would be protected from fallen trees, etc.
As for this week, we know that God is sovereign and knows all things. Perhaps its times like these that we are able to slow down from the fast-paced lifestyle that we are used to and reflect on him. In particular, we realize how much we take for granted on a daily basis such as power. I can't tell you how many times I have flipped the power switch only to have the lights not come on. But God is good and even through a blizzard, He can show Himself strong. God bless
