December 12, 2009
Dear friends,
We are please to announce that we have signed a lease on the former Gordonsville Christian Church (314 North Main Street) in Gordonsville, VA. Built in the mid 1800's, this church has been a beacon of hope in this community for many years. Unfortunately, the Gordonsville Christian Church no longer exists and the trustees have been grateful in leasing us this property. Our plan is to extend our ministries into the town of Gordonsville and this location will serve as an additional campus for our church. Tomorrow night, Sunday, December 13th, at 6 pm, we will be holding a prayer meeting/vision casting service led by Rev. John Nichols. Pastor John has felt the Lord leading him for some time in the area of Campus Church development and we will endorse our brother and his family for this adventure. Previously, there have been prayer walks and prayer meetings to prepare this community for seed planting. While our vision is to duplicate the services from New Life-Louisa, we understand that building any spiritual work must begin with prayer and the forming of leadership teams for the task. Tomorrow night will be just that. Pastor John will be preaching from the Book of Nehemiah and comparing the similarities with rebuilding in our own lives. This Sunday night service will occur from here on out and we are trusting God to lead us as we transition to Sunday mornings. We want you to be a part of this great work by inviting friends and family that you may know who are living in this area. Not only invite them, but you come with them and create a friendly environment for those who may be attending church for the first time.
Here is how you can pray for us:
1. Pray for Pastor John as he makes this transition to Gordonsville Campus Pastor.
2. Pray for leaders who will step up and commit to this work in Gordonsville.
3. Pray that the Spirit of God will move across this town and we will find favor with the people.
4. Pray for those who are already living in Gordonsville that God will give them boldness in sharing with their friends.
5. We are convinced that as we claim this territory for Jesus, that the enemy will be angry and attempt diversions. Pray for our discernment and direction.
6. Bring family and friends with you to support this new ministry.
